Al-Iman Feeding Schemes
Our feeding scheme program is established to address the overgrowing issues of hunger and malnutrition in vulnerable communities in Gauteng and serves over seven regions including Evaton, Lakeside, Eikenholf, Hospital Hills, Lenasia South, Palm Springs, Vlakfontein.
We provide three meals a day, seven days a week. Our meals are prepared by professional chefs using fresh, locally sourced ingredients provided by local organizations, donors, and volunteers who recognize the need to provide access to healthy and nutritious food to those in need. Apart from nutritious benefits, we ensure that our meals are delicious and designed to meet the dietary needs of all our beneficiaries, including those with specific dietary restrictions.
Primary beneficiaries of our feeding scheme are children who attend our afterschool madressah program, families struggling to access enough food to meet their basic nutritional needs and the elderly on chronic medication. These communities often face financial difficulties, making it difficult to purchase healthy and nutritious food on a regular basis.
The program also offers nutrition advice to families, teaching them about the importance of a balanced diet and providing them with the knowledge to make healthier food choices.
Furthermore, our feeding scheme program aligns with the islamic teachings that, the best deeds are feeding the poor. As the Hadith highlights the importance of feeding others and contributing to the well-being of those in need. Messenger of Allah (saw), also said, “Worship Ar-Rahman, feed others, spread the (greeting of) peace, then you will enter Paradise with security (salam)”. Al-Iman Foundation together with its donors and partners understands the significance of feeding others and caring for those in need and that such acts of kindness will be rewarded in the afterlife.
Overall, our feeding scheme addresses the pressing need of food security and makes a positive impact on the lives of those in vulnerable communities.
