Our Story
Al-Iman Foundation, founded in 2010, is a faith-based organization dedicated to fostering the empowerment of individuals and families through sociowelfare and educational initiatives.
The foundation actively promotes empowerment by efficiently distributing Zakáh and other Sadaqát, employing proactive and cost-effective methods.
Al-Iman Foundation strives to create a positive impact in the lives of those it serves – in our terms referred to as & holders – through our core functions which includes propagating Islam, feeding schemes, bursary programs, food distributions, provision of boarding schools, community skills development and Masjid Construction programs.
The Al-Iman Foundation objectives are to form an infrastructure to restore values and practices among the community members as a result, society will become more enlightened, educated and informed, thus empowering people to become active members in their respective communities.
The foundation has grown to achieve a track record of being one of the most progressive and active organizations in South Africa.

Child Sponsorship
Al Iman Foundation Child Sponsorship Program is a holistic child development intervention aiming to empower children with adequate services to thrive. The focus of the program is to impart skills and knowledge to the children by qualified personnel while providing the children with resources that enable them to reach their full potential.
Community Skills Development
Our skills development program has a profound impact in addressing employment and provides entrepreneurial skills needed to drive SMMEs and the local economy in the communities we serve. That is why we offer sewing classes to people of all ages and skill levels.
Islamic Propagation
The Islamic Propagation and Services wing of Al-Iman Foundation is a community driven project that is based on calling people to Islam and providing them with the essentials to lead a decent life. Al-Iman Foundation has oversight of seven Islamic centers. Daily prayers are established at all the centers led by qualified Imams.
Islamic Seasonal Programs
Ramadaan programs and qurbani programs are conducted yearly. This includes Food packs are distributed to eligible Muslim families and as for the people who frequent the Masjid. Al- Iman Foundation runs a Qurbani campaign in order to raise funds for the implementation of the Qurbani
food aid program.
